Angel surprised me today with tickets to see our favorite musicians,
Sigur Rós. They will be performing at the Orpheum in Minneapolis
on May 8. I am so excited to see them again. Last time was such a memorable
experience, which can be read here.
It will be an enchanting evening once again.

We finally got our copy of North Country. If you remember from a
post last year,
Angel and I were cast as 'background artists' in the filming of 'North Country.'
It was a great experience. Now we are able to watch it on DVD and be able
to freeze frame the scenes in which we are featured. For your reference,
we are about eight minutes into the film. Here are some images from the
movie:
In between takes, we got to talk to the polka band. They were all really nice and they also had a great time playing for everyone. Now their music will be heard for years to come!
During the scene where we were dancing, Charlize was to make her way through the crowded dance floor with her dinner plate, continuing onto her table. This scene was filmed many times, from different angles. In one scene, we were really getting into the dancing, and Charlize walks right next to us, and we knock into her plate, sending her dinner roll flying. "Cut!" yells the Assistant Director, and we laughed.

I got a fun piece of mail today. It
was from Sweden and was an edition of the Viking Heritage Magazine. Published
on the last page of the magazine was my Leif Erickson Day design and my
letter expressing my opinion of how Leif Erickson should be given credit
of exploring to the new world, not Christopher Columbus. It is fun to see
my design published in a Scandinavian country. I hope that the Nordic readers
will appreciate my design, and the idea that I am trying to convey.

Jon just upgraded to a new computer at home, and being the very generous
person that he is, gave us his other computer. It is just fantastic! It
is a great machine and works flawlessly. Now we will be able to post our
announcements on a more regular basis.

Sorry to have been out of touch for the past few weeks. I have had some
life changing events happen to me. And yes, they were good. First of all,
I was offered a job with another firm. It was an offer I couldn't refuse.
I really liked where I was at for the past several years, but this was an
opportunity that I couldn't pass up. I will be a designer for Krech Ojard
& Associates. The best part is that I get to work closely with Angel's
brother who is also a designer. Together, we will be a great design team.
So, it was a stressful couple of weeks. It was at that time of my job change
is when we were getting ready for our latest exhibition. Time was flying
by way too fast, and we needed to get our paintings completed. But it all
came together and the exhibition was fantastic. Look for updates on our
new paintings!
