Today, we were getting a lot of attention to our site and we found out that we were featured on Yahoo's THE 9 It was a pleasant surprise! We have been hearing from people from all over the nation and world. Everyone has been really supportive and has been great to hear all the comments on our art. Thanks, Yahoo!

This past weekend stayed up at Angel's cabin on beautiful Lake Vermilion. It is a slice of paradise situated on a private island. The only way to reach the cabin in the summer is by boat.
There are many beautiful vistas from all around the island. Tall pine trees tower into the air, and flowers and colorful lichen are at your feet. It is a great place to be, especially on a perfect weekend like this one.
This past year, beavers landed on the island and took down quite a few trees. It was amazing how big of trees they took down. It would be one thing if they took them down and used them for their home, but there were quite a few trees that were felled and left behind. Maybe they were going to come back for them. But it is still curious how these little animals can take down a tree just by using their teeth.
This past weekend was a milestone for our little Gidget. She loves to wade in the water, but after some coaxing, she has learned how to swim! It was so cute to watch her splash in the water and then just go in a full swim mode. Once she learned that she wasn't going to go under, she was used to the idea of swimming and loves it!
But if she just wants to relax and be out in the water with us as we swim and float around. Gidget has her own personal little raft. She will actually push the raft out into the lake and jump into it! She loves being pulled around in it and just catch some rays.
This past weekend, we had some outdoor art projects as well. As we had seen in Iceland, tiny doors were painted onto rocks out in the countryside. We looked into this, and found out that these doors were for the elves and gnomes. Naturally, we had to have these on the island as well. It was a lot of fun, and we hope that they will enjoy their little island homes!

This past week, Angel taught art at a local elementary school. It was a day camp where the students spent the entire week working on a play in the mornings and fine arts in the afternoon. Angel spent much time with these children, teaching them the basic of drawing, painting, sculpture and animation. She also exposed them to famous artists and how art plays a part in our lives. Angel had a great time with these children and she hopes that her time there this week will influence art into their lives even more.

Today there was an air show in our city. Angel used to work for an aircraft manufacturer and was around planes quite a bit. It was fun to see all the types of aircraft. I personally liked the bi-wing stunt planes. I think a ride on one of those would be a great experience!

Today is the annual Heritage Days Parade. It was a great day for a parade, sunny and in the high 70's. A lot of the parade is the same as years' past, but my favorite part of the parade is the Two Harbors City Band, especially the tuba player! He is my Dad and playing the tuba is the perfect instrument for him. He gets a kick out of it, and enjoys playing for the hometown crowd.

Today was a very special day in our family's house. My little sister was married! I can't believe that her day has finally arrived. She is marrying a nice gentleman who loves her a lot.
It was a perfect day for a wedding. The sun was shining and everything went perfectly. I was an usher for her wedding, and Angel was a bridesmaid. Being the usher, it was special because I got to walk my mom down the aisle. Then I got to come back and watch the rest of the wedding party walk down to the alter. Then I got to watch my Dad and sister get ready to walk down the aisle. All my sister's attendants were crying, my sister held her composure as well as my dad, but it a moment that I will remember forever.
I wish them a lifetime of happiness and adventure!
