We were commissioned to create three large coffee inspired works of art for a private collection. Each work of art was seven feet long by three feet tall. The series is called "Coffee Connections" with the theme for the paintings being the process of coffee, from harvest to cup.
Here are the descriptions of each painting:
"Coffee Origins"
This piece emphasizes coffee's origin. A far away landscape with mountains and vegetation is portrayed. The human connection: worn hands of an experienced harvester proudly present the ripe and luscious red cherries of the coffee tree. A hand woven basket carries the harvest.
"Coffee Transformation"
The craft of roasting coffee is reflected here. Personal attention is given by a roaster who values the subtle differences in coffee varietals and crafts the perfect roast. In front, a cupping takes place where the fine notes of coffee are appreciated and defined.

It is Andy's birthday today and his family arrived in town to celebrate. With Andy's sister due to deliver any day now, it would be exciting to share a birthday with his new niece/nephew. Even though there was no baby this day, it is very exciting and the anticipation builds each day as the due date draws closer.
It was very nice to get together with the family to share our latest art creations and our upcoming plans.
It will be a very exciting year!

Our Coffee Art® was recently published in an article in a Swedish magazine, kaffe &. Our art received a very nice spread. For our Swedish readers:
Konst i kaffe

We received a very exciting package in the mail today. It was from our talented Finnish musician friend, Mika Kuokkanen. He just released his latest album From the Eastwing. When he visited us last September, he loved our art and asked if we would be willing to assist in his next album. We were honored that he asked and our Coffee Art® was incorporated on his album.
It looks fantastic! We hope that he has great success again with his album. To hear Mika's wonderful music, take a listen here and here.

Angel was invited to be a "Professor for a Day" at our alma mater, the University of Minnesota Duluth. It is an annual event at the School of Business where alums discuss how the University influenced their lives and where they currently are now in their careers.
Angel was on a panel for "Following Your Passion to Successful Entrepreneurship."
She did a fantastic job! Take a look at the short film to the right to view the panel discussion.
Besides our Coffee Art®, we are creating other art and involved in other activities. On this page you will find out more about our inspiration and other ways of creating art.
